Upcoming Weekend Closure for South Side Bridge Demolition
COLUMBUS - Both directions of State Route 104 will close under US Route 23 this weekend for bridge demolition. SR 104 traffic will have to exit at US 23, then re-enter SR 104.
Construction on US 23 at SR 104 resumed Monday, which means fewer lanes on US 23 until July. Traffic is shifted onto the eastern half of the bridge so crews can rebuild the western half.
Here’s what you can expect this weekend.
FRIDAY, MARCH 31 – MONDAY, APRIL 3
8 PM FRIDAY: SR 104 east and west will be closed at US 23. Both directions of SR 104 traffic will be maintained using the ramps at US 23. Note, there are traffic signals at both ramps and law enforcement officers will be present throughout the weekend. Drivers on SR 104 east cannot turn left to go north on US 23. They should continue to Groveport Rd. to SR 104 west to US 23 north.
5 AM MONDAY: All lanes of SR 104 east and west are open. US 23 is still reduced to one lane northbound and two lanes southbound. Additionally, left turns from SR 104 east to US 23 north are prohibited. Eastbound SR 104 drivers must follow the detour to Groveport Road.
The graphic below illustrates how traffic will be maintained through the weekend.
