Enjoy the Fair then Get Ready for Construction on US 42 & Section Line
MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 22
The Ohio Department of Transportation project in Delaware County on US Route 42 and Section Line Road is scheduled to begin Monday, September 22, 2014, after the Delaware County Fair. The project improvements include: new turn lanes on US Route 42, guardrail, drainage, concrete pavement and traffic signal upgrades.
The contractor, Double Z Construction, is permitted to close sections of the intersection for 14 days each, for a total of 28 days. The intersection is not permitted to be completely closed, unless law enforcement intervenes due to an unplanned incident in the construction zone.
Once the contractor finishes the first phase, crews will move right into the second phase, which could be prior to or after the 14-day period. It depends on work conditions and weather.
The graphic below depicts the closures and schedule.
Close US 42 (both directions) east of S. Section Line Road
Close S. Section Line Road (both directions) north of US 42
US 42 and S. Section Line Road (south and west legs of intersection) will remain open.
