Work to build third lane of I-71 to restart
I-71 south reduced to two lanes starting tomorrow
FRIDAY, MARCH 14
Interstate 71 (NEW) Beginning at 7 a.m., I-71 south will be reduced to two lanes between SR 61 and US 36/SR 37 so crews can begin work on the northbound lanes of I-71.
Before work to build a third northbound lane can begin, ODOT must shift both directions of traffic over to the southbound lanes. Two lanes will be maintained in each direction on I-71 for the duration of the project.
The first of three projects to widen 25 miles of I-71 in Delaware and Morrow Counties was completed last year between SR 95 and the Richland County Line. The other two projects are expected to be complete by Fall of this year.
