COUNTDOWN TO BYE-BYE ORANGE BARRELS IS ON
State Route 315 northbound set to open in just one day
COLUMBUS (Thursday, September 9, 2010)– All three lanes of State Route 315 north will be open and every northbound entrance ramp except for one will also open by noon Friday, September 10, 2010.
The Ohio State University and City of Columbus asked ODOT to keep the Olentangy River Road ramp to SR 315 north closed until Wednesday at 5 a.m., in order to manage football game traffic and complete final paving.
The $24 million ODOT State Route 315 project, which improved approximately six miles of roadway in both directions and 17 bridges , is expected to be complete a year ahead of schedule.
Because of good weather and Complete General’s aggressive work schedule, final paving on both directions of SR 315 including all entrance and exit ramps is expected to be completed this year. The contractor had until August 2011 to complete all work.
From 9 p.m. tonight until 5 a.m. tomorrow, both lanes of SR 315 north will be open, but there will be intermittent exit ramp closures for resurfacing. Law enforcement will direct you to the next available ramp.
After Friday at noon, there may be nighttime restrictions and closures on SR 315 north and south to allow the contractor to complete all work this year.
