I-270 and US 33 Interchange Improvement

interCHANGE Traffic Advisory
The following work is planned for this week on the project. All work is weather dependent; it may be postponed or cancelled without prior notice.

*NOTE* THE POSTED SPEED LIMIT IS NOW REDUCED TO 55 MPH ON I-270 NORTH AND SOUTH BETWEEN SAWMILL RD. AND TUTTLE CROSSING.TONIGHT THE POSTED SPEED ON US 33 WEST WILL BE 45 MPH. TUESDAY NIGHT, THE POSTED SPEED ON US 33 EAST WILL BE 45 MPH.These reduced speeds will be in effect until the conclusion of the project.
MONDAY, APRIL 13 US ROUTE 33 – (NEW)
·         8 PM: Frantz Rd and Post Rd. to US 33 west reduced to one turn lane each.
·         8 PM: US 33 west will be reduced to one lane between Frantz Rd. and Avery Rd.
·         9 PM- Midnight: The I-270 north ramp to US 33 west will close. Detour: I-270 north to Sawmill Rd to I-270 south to US 33 west.
·         9 PM- Midnight: The US 33 west ramp to I-270 south will be closed. Detour: US 33 west to Avery Rd. to US 33 east to I-270 south.
·         By 5 AM all lanes and ramps are open.
These closures and restrictions are for pavement striping.
TUESDAY, APRIL 14  INTERSTATE 270 SOUTH AND US ROUTE 33 EAST/WEST (NEW)
·         7 PM:  I- 270 South will be reduced to three lanes between Sawmill Rd and Tuttle Crossing.
·         8 PM: Avery Rd. south to US 33 east reduced to one turn lane, and the Avery Rd. ramp to US 33 east will be reduced to one lane.
·         8 PM: US 33 east will be reduced to one lane between Avery Rd. and Frantz Rd.
·         8 PM: US 33 west will be reduced to one lane between Frantz Rd. and Avery Rd.
·         9 PM: I-270 south will be reduced to two lanes between Sawmill Rd. to Tuttle Crossing.
·         9 PM- MIDNIGHT: The ramp from US 33 east to I-270 south will be closed. The detour is I-270 north to Sawmill Rd. to I-270 south.
·         10 PM: The ramps from US 33 east and west to I-270 south will be closed. Detour: I-270 north to Sawmill Rd. to I-270 south.
·         11 PM: I-270 south will be reduced to one lane between Sawmill Rd. and Tuttle Crossing.
·         By 5 AM, all lanes and ramps will be open.
 
These closures and restrictions are for pavement striping and setting concrete barrier.
 
 
WEDNESDAY, APRIL 15 INTERSTATE 270 NORTH AND US 33 WEST – (NEW)
·         7 PM: I-270 north will be reduced to two lanes from Tuttle Crossing Blvd. to US 33 and three lanes between US 33 and Sawmill Rd.
·         8 PM: US 33 west will be reduced to one lane between Frantz Rd. and Avery Rd.
·         9 PM: I-270 north will be reduced to two lanes between Tuttle Crossing Blvd. and Sawmill Rd.
·         10 PM: The ramps from US 33 east and west to I-270 north will close. Detour: I-270 south to Tuttle Crossing Blvd. to I-270 north.
·         11 PM: I-270 north will be reduced to one lane.
·         3 AM: The ramp from I-270 north to US 33 west will close. The detour is I-270 north to Sawmill Road to I-270 south to US 33 west.
·         BY 5 AM, all lanes and ramps will be open.
These closures and ramps are for pavement markings and setting concrete barrier.
THURSDAY, APRIL 16  US ROUTE 33 EAST (NEW)
  • 8 PM: US Route 33 east will be reduced to one lane between Avery Rd and Frantz Rd.
  • By 5 AM, all lanes are open.
The closure is to install concrete barrier along the median.
 
FRIDAY, APRIL 17 US ROUTE 33 EAST (NEW)
  • 8 PM: US Route 33 east will be reduced to one lane between Avery Rd and Frantz Rd.
  • By 5 AM, all lanes are open.
The closure is to install concrete barrier along the median.
