May 11, 2011 UPDATE

By now you have seen the orange barrels at State Route 3 and I-270. The contractor will begin work this week on the entrance ramp from SR 3 north to I-270 west. The ramp will not be closed during this work.

We will communicate any and all closures and restrictions via email and post the information on the SR 3 project website.

We recently created a new map that explains the improvements that ODOT will make to 1.7 miles of SR 3 over the next two years. This construction season, which will carry us through November, will focus on the SR 3 and I-270 interchange and improvements to Dempsey and Emerick. 

The construction plans do call for bike lanes throughout the whole ODOT project which is from SR 3 and SR 161 to just south of Huber Village Boulevard. Right now, ODOT is coordinating with the Federal Highway Administration and the City of Westerville to finalize in detail how these bike lanes will be configured. 

Since this is construction, plans can change because of weather, materials and equipment. ODOT will make every effort to communicate any and all changes and the impact to traffic as soon as we know.
