In spring 2011, ODOT will begin construction of a safety project on State Route 3 in Westerville between State Rout 161 and Huber Village Boulevard.
ODOT will resurface SR 3, construct bike lanes and improve one interchange and four intersections. Work on the $7 million project is expected to be complete in 2012.
INTERCHANGE AND INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENTS
I-270 west to SR 3 north
ODOT will reconfigure the continuous exit ramp to improve safety
SR 3 and SR 161
This intersection will be widened and resurfaced
SR 3 and Dempsey Road
ODOT will realign this intersection so that Dempsey and Emrick are aligned, reducing the "wait time" at the traffic signal for east-west traffic.
SR 3 at Paris Boulevard and Brazzaville Road
Both intersections will be widened and resurfaced.
DURING CONSTRUCTION
Access to businesses on SR 3 will be maintained.
One lane in each direction on SR 3 will be maintained.
Notification of closures or restrictions will be made through email blasts, ODOT District 6 website posts, Twitter, Facebook, Paving the Way and the local media.
Dempsey Road will be closed for 30 days and Paris Boulevard will be closed for 14 days. Brazzaville Road will also close, duration not known.
Dempsey Road, Paris Boulevard and Brazzaville Road will not be closed at the same time.
The Old Dublin Granville Road exit ramp from SR 161 west will close for 14 days because westbound Old Dublin Granville Road east of SR 3 is closed. Westbound Old Dublin Granville Road will then close west of SR 3 for 15 days.
