 District 7, Permits

 

The ODOT District 7 Permit Office covers permits for Auglaize, Champaign, Clark, Darke, Logan, Mercer, Montgomery and Image of District 7 CountiesShelby counties only.

Office hours for all permits listed on this page are Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. For more information on obtaining a permit contact Permit Coordinator, at (937) 492-1141.

 

 Special Hauling Permits

 

Legal Dimension and Weight Limits for Highway Vehicles

These permits are issued for movement of vehicles that exceed the limitations on length, height, width, or weight as established in the Ohio Revised Code, Sections 5577.01-5577.09.

An insurance policy endorsement form (OS-32) must be filed with the ODOT Special Hauling Permits Section prior to processing a permit application. Contact ODOT District 7's Permit Office for more information.

 

 Roadway Usage Permits

 

These permits are issued for all approved work performed on, or occupancy of, all state highway right of way as established by the Ohio Revised Code, Chapter 5515. These permits apply only to state highways outside municipal corporations.

Roadway/Residential Permit Instructions

Examples of such permits are:

  • Construction of a residential, commercial, or field drives
  • Installation of drainage pipes or catch basins
  • Excavation of banks and installation of fill materials
  • Installation of utility facilities

 Commercial Access Permits

 

The State Highway Access Management Manual contains the process requirements and standards that are applied depending on the type of highway facility involved. Each access management category has it's own standards for number of drives permitted, permitted traffic movements at the drive, spacing requirements, turn lane thresholds and a variety of other items. These standards ensure the highway will continue to function as it was originally intended to operate in terms of safety, mobility and land access.
