Right Of Way Use Permits

The Right of Way Use Permits Section is responsible for managing a program designed to balance traffic mobility demands with convenient land access.  Standard frequencies, locations and designs of intersections, medians, turn lanes, driveways and traffic signals have been developed for various roadway access categories which are defined based on the function of a road.  A permit is required for any work involving ODOT right of way.  Right of way use permit applications are received from private property owners, businesses, utility companies and other governmental agencies.  The applications are reviewed and permits are issued in accordance with ODOT policies and procedures.  Construction inspection is performed to ensure final installations are done according to plan.  Traffic impact studies are also reviewed for compliance with ODOT standards.
