I-70 / 75 Interchange Phase III

Completion Date: November 2009

Estimated Project Cost: $48.3 million

Project Location: I-70 from just west of the Dayton Airport Access Rd. to the CSX railroad east of I-75.   

Project Description: Construct the remaining ramps. Construct new railroad bridge over I-70, just east of the interchange. Also landscape the infield areas.

 Project Benefits:
  • The new interchange will have more capacity to accommodate increased traffic, while eliminating the weaving movements of the existing interchange design that will improve safety for all vehicles.
  • The new interchange will incorporate major highway design improvements.
  • The new interchange will spur economic growth. Studies document major growth in housing, retail locations, and office space at newly opened freeway interchanges.
  • The new interchange will handle future needs. It is projected that this interchange will see as much as 65% growth in traffic volumes in the next 20 years.
