Russell Road Reconstruction Begins
Russell Road, between Fourth Avenue and Vandemark Road will be closed to traffic for road reconstruction beginning April 1. This project also includes the replacement of the bridge over Interstate 75. Access will be maintained to local businesses and residences from the east by Sixth Avenue or Fourth Avenue and from the west by Vandemark Road or Kuther Road. Detours signs will be posted.
The anticipated opening date is September 15, 2009.
The City of Sidney suggests that businesses with large fleets and/or deliveries contact their suppliers and customers with alternate routes during the closure.
Detour streets may experience heavy congestion at times due to traffic being rerouted; motorists should remain alert, reduce their speed and watch for stopped traffic at all times. Please use extra caution through this area.
Although this is an Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) construction project, the City of Sidney is dedicated to answering questions regarding this project and may be reached at (937) 498-8142.
