ODOT Announces the Opening of I-75/Austin Boulevard Interchange
Moving Ohio Into A Prosperous New World
Montgomery County (Friday, July 2, 2010)
The Ohio Department of Transportation District 7 announces the opening of the I-75/Austin Boulevard interchange Friday July 2nd. The four new ramps, located at exit #41 along I-75 between SR 725 and SR 73, will relieve congestion on existing I-75 ramps and allow much needed access to the interstate.
“This interchange is opening two months ahead of schedule and just in time to accommodate Fourth of July traffic”, said ODOT District Seven Deputy Director Rex Dickey.
The opening of the I-75/Austin Boulevard interchange comes just weeks after the opening of the new Continuous Flow Intersection (CFI) at Austin Boulevard (formerly Miamisburg Springboro Road) and SR 741. This new construction allows for heavier traffic volume to accommodate the new interchange.
“The community has been anxiously awaiting this opening and we are very excited to see the results of this construction both in traffic flow and economic development”, said Dickey.
The newly constructed I-75/Austin Boulevard interchange and Austin Boulevard compliment and support existing and proposed economic development at that site. The new ramps will allow area residents and businesses a more convenient, smoother commute.
“Opening the ramps at Austin Boulevard greatly improves connectivity in the southern portion of Montgomery County and northern Warren County, while opening up new possibilities for job creation and economic development”, said Dickey.
Rex Dickey will be available for interviews Friday July 2nd at 9:30 am. Media interested in this opportunity are asked to meet in the parking lot of the Dayton-Wright Brothers Airport along SR 741.
