Wald Vogel Viaduct Improvement Project
State Avenue Closure Scheduled
Hamilton County (Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2011) – As part of the Wald Vogel Viaduct improvement project, work to construct temporary pavement for U.S. 50 (River Road) and State Avenue will require closing State Avenue at English Street the week of Monday, Dec. 12.
At the completion of the five business-day closure, for which detour signs will be posted, State Avenue will reopen and U.S. 50 will be placed onto the new, temporary road.
This work was previously scheduled for the week of Nov. 28 but was postponed due to rain. The work is weather permitting.
**Vehicles over 16 tons are restricted from using the existing viaduct**
Arrow boards and/or signs will be in place to alert motorists of the upcoming road closure.
To help ensure the safety of the construction workers as well as the traveling public, motorists should remain alert, reduce their speed and watch for stopped traffic while passing through the work zone.
