Full closure of
Interstate 75 scheduled

(Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2014) – The
railroad bridge replacement project on Interstate 75 south of SR 562 will
require various nightly lane closures on southbound I-75 this week.
Tuesday,
Dec. 2, Wednesday, Dec. 3 and Thursday, Dec. 4:
Single
lane closure beginning at 8 p.m., followed by double lane closure at 11 p.m.
The ramp from SR 562 to southbound I-75 will close beginning at 9 p.m., with
all lanes reopened to traffic by 6 a.m. the following day.
Also, on
Thursday, Dec. 4, a rolling road block will be in place on southbound I-75 to
relocate a crane.
On
Friday, Dec. 5, all lanes of southbound I-75 will be closed between the SR 562
and Mitchell Avenue interchanges beginning at 11 p.m., with all lanes reopened
to traffic by 8 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 6. The ramp from westbound SR 562 to
southbound I-75 will also be closed. Single lane closures will be in place
beginning at 9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5.
All
lanes of southbound I-75 will also be closed Monday, Dec. 8, Tuesday, Dec. 9,
and if necessary, Wednesday, Dec. 10, beginning at 11 p.m. with all lanes
reopened to traffic by 6 a.m. the following day.
Suggested
detour is west on I-275 to east on I-74 to I-75. The ramp from southbound I-75
to eastbound SR 562 will be open to traffic as well.
All work is dependent on the weather. Traffic
will be maintained with law enforcement officers, and arrow boards and signs
will be in place to alert motorists of the upcoming closure and detour.
