Full closure of
northbound Interstate 75 this week
Hamilton
County
(Thursday, July 17, 2014) – Operations
to remove a railroad bridge over Interstate 75 just south of SR 562 will
require full closure of northbound I-75 Thursday, July 17, and Friday, July 18.
All
lanes of northbound I-75 will be closed between the Mitchell Avenue and SR 562
interchanges, beginning at 11 p.m. both nights, and reopening to traffic by 5
a.m. Friday, July 18, and 8 a.m. Saturday, July 19. The suggested detour is
west on I-74 to east on I-275 to I-75.
In
preparation for the bridge removal work, additional lane restrictions will be
in place this week, including a single lane closure for northbound I-75,
beginning at 9 p.m., followed by a double lane closure at 11 p.m. on Monday,
July 14, Tuesday, July 15 and Wednesday, July 16; all lanes will reopen to
traffic by 5 a.m. the following day.
Arrow
boards and/or signs will be in place to alert motorists of the upcoming closure
and detour. To help ensure the safety of the construction workers as well as
the traveling public, motorists should remain alert, reduce their speed and
watch for stopped traffic while passing through the work zone.
