I-275/SR 32 Construction Update

I-275/SR 32 construction update

CLERMONT COUNTY (Thursday, Aug. 28, 2014) – Work on the I-275 and SR 32 Interchange improvement project will require a single lane closure on westbound SR 32 to straighten the section of road between Eastgate Boulevard and Old SR 74.

The closure will be in place from 7 p.m. to midnight Thursday, Aug. 28 to accommodate the realignment which will help ease congestion, especially for motorists driving toward Newtown. The change will also help dissipate merging traffic from Eastgate Boulevard to SR 32 and from SR 32 to northbound I-275.

Currently, the project is focusing on construction of the new ramp from Eastgate Blvd. to eastbound SR 32, and is ahead of schedule. This new ramp is expected to open to traffic in November, and will include the continuous ramp from northbound I-275 to eastbound SR 32 through the tunnel.

Crews are also working on the northbound I-275 mainline bridge over Aicholtz. Work on that bridge is scheduled to be complete in November as well. Once complete, the contraflow phase will be switched to the northbound lanes as opposed to southbound so work can proceed on the southbound I-75 mainline structure.

Arrow boards and/or signs will be in place to alert motorists of the upcoming lane closures.

To help ensure the safety of the construction workers as well as the traveling public, motorists should remain alert, reduce their speed and watch for stopped traffic while passing through the work zone.
