Interstate 71 Repaving Projects Update
Hamilton County (Friday, Aug. 17, 2018) - The Interstate 71 repaving
projects require the following restrictions:
- Continued closure of the ramp
from Reading Road to north I-71 through 6 a.m. Friday, Aug. 31. The detour
uses Reading Road to Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive to north I-71.
- Nightly closure of the Reading
Rd. to I-71 north ramp 8 p.m. until 6 a.m. through Friday, Aug. 31.
- Nightly closure of the I-71
north ramp to Reading Rd. 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. beginning Monday, Aug. 20
through Saturday morning Aug. 25.
- Various lane closures on south
I-71 between the Lytle Tunnel and Reading Rd. nightly from 8 p.m. until 6
a.m. beginning Monday, Aug. 20, through Wednesday, Aug. 22.
- Single lane closures on Reading
Road between Liberty and McMillan streets nightly from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m.
beginning Monday, Aug. 20 through Saturday, Aug. 25.
- Continuous left lane closure on
north I-71 from the Lytle Tunnel to Reading Road from 7 p.m. Friday, Aug.
17 through 10 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 19.
- The left lane of south I-71
from SR 126 to Ridge Road is in a contraflow lane, using the left lane of
north I-71. Traffic will remain in this pattern until May, 2019.
- Continued reduced bridge
clearance for the ramps east SR 562 to Ridge Road and north I-71 and from
north I-71 to west SR 562, through Saturday, Sept. 1.
Arrow boards and/or
signs will alert motorists of the upcoming restrictions. All work is contingent
upon weather.
To help ensure the
safety of the construction workers as well as the traveling public, motorists
should remain alert, reduce their speed and watch for stopped traffic while
passing through the work zone. Move over or slow down.
