Interstate 71 lane closures scheduled for paving work
 
Hamilton County (Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2016) – Pavement work requires the following lane closures on Interstate 71/I-75/Brent Spence Bridge beginning at 9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2 until approximately 4 p.m. Saturday.
 
·         The 4th Street entrance ramp (Covington, KY) and the right lane of northbound I-71/I-75 over the Brent Spence bridge will be closed. All I-71 traffic will be diverted to northbound I-75 to SR 562 to I-71.
·         The right two lanes of Fort Washington Way will be closed. Eastbound U.S. 50 will be open; however, there will be no access from northbound I-71/I-75.
·         The 5th Street entrance ramp to NB I-71 will be closed.  Traffic will be detoured north on Broadway to 7th Street to Gilbert Avenue entrance ramp.
 
Arrow boards and/or signs will be in place prior to the work zone to alert motorists of the lane and ramp closures.
 
To help ensure the safety of the construction workers as well as the traveling public, motorists should remain alert, reduce their speed and watch for stopped traffic while passing through the work zone.
