Interstate
71/MLK project update
Hamilton County (Monday,
Sept. 14, 2015) – As part of the work to create a new,
full movement interchange at Interstate 71 and Martin Luther King Drive, the
following lane closures will be in place between William Howard Taft and
Victory Parkway:
On Monday, Sept. 14 and
Tuesday, Sept. 15, Fredonia Road will be closed from 7 p.m. until 6 a.m. the
following day. Local law enforcement officers will maintain traffic on Fredonia
Road for emergency vehicles and tractor trailers.
Also on Monday and
Tuesday, a single lane closure on southbound
I-71 at 7 p.m., with a double lane closure at 9 p.m. until 6 a.m. the following
day. Rolling road blocks on southbound I-71 from
11 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following day.
On Wednesday, Sept.16 and
Thursday, Sept.17 a single lane closure on northbound
I-71 at 7 p.m., with a double lane closure at 9 p.m. until 6 a.m. the following
day. Rolling road blocks on northbound I-71 from
11 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following day.
Arrow boards and/or signs
will be in place to alert motorists of the upcoming work zone and traffic
restrictions.
To help ensure the safety
of the construction workers as well as the traveling public, motorists should
remain alert, reduce their speed and watch for stopped traffic while passing
through the work zone.
