I-71/MLK Project Update

 
Interstate 71/MLK lane closure scheduled
 
Hamilton County (Friday, July 8, 2016) – The following restrictions will be in place on Interstate 71 between William Howard Taft and Victory Parkway, as part of the work to create a new, full movement interchange at I-71 and Martin Luther King Drive:
 
Friday, July 8: Single lane closure on northbound I-71 beginning at 7 p.m. until 6 a.m. the following day.
 
Monday, July 11 through Thursday, July 14: Various lane closures on north and southbound I-71 nightly beginning at 7 p.m. until 6 a.m. the following day. Also, short-term full closures on northbound I-71 from midnight until 5 a.m.
 
Friday, July 15: Various lane closures on northbound I-71, with short-term full closures, from midnight to 6 a.m.
 
Traffic will be maintained.
 
Arrow boards and/or signs will be in place to alert motorists of the upcoming work zone. All work is dependent upon weather.
 
To help ensure the safety of the construction workers as well as the traveling public, motorists should remain alert, reduce their speed and watch for stopped traffic while passing through the work zone.

As a $2.8 billion per year enterprise, ODOT invests the bulk of its resources in system preservation through maintenance, construction and snow and ice operations.
 
The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable Federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by ODOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 11, 2015, and executed by FHWA and ODOT.
