Interstate 71/MLK project update
 
Hamilton County (Friday, Aug. 5, 2016) – The following restrictions will be in place next week as part of the work to create a new, full movement interchange at Interstate 71 and Martin Luther King Drive.
 
Beginning at 9 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 8, the left lane of westbound Martin Luther King Drive will be closed from Gilbert Avenue to Reading Road until 3 p.m. Various lane closures will begin on southbound I-71 at 7 p.m. until 6 a.m., with short-term full closures until 5 a.m.
 
Beginning at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 9, the left lane of westbound Martin Luther King Drive will be closed from Gilbert Avenue to Reading Road until 3 p.m. Various lane closures will begin on southbound I-71 at 7 p.m. until 6 a.m., with short-term full closures until 5 a.m.
 
Beginning at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 9, lane reductions on Martin Luther King Drive between Burnett and Lincoln avenues until 6 a.m. the following day. This traffic pattern will remain in effect for approximately six months.
 
Arrow boards and/or signs will be in place to alert motorists of the upcoming work zone and restrictions. All work is dependent upon weather.
 
To help ensure the safety of the construction workers as well as the traveling public, motorists should remain alert, reduce their speed and watch for stopped traffic while passing through the work zone.
