I-71/MLK project update

Interstate 71/MLK project update

Hamilton County (Friday, Nov. 20, 2015) – As part of the work to create a new, full movement interchange at Interstate 71 and Martin Luther King Drive, the following restrictions will be in place next week.

Monday, Nov. 23 at the intersection of Reading and Martin Luther King, southbound Reading will be reduced to one lane at Union, with northbound Reading reduced to one lane at Lincoln beginning at 8 p.m., with all lanes open by 6 a.m. the next day.

Wednesday, Nov. 25 there will be short duration full closures on northbound I-71 between Dana and Victory Parkway from 3 a.m.to 5 a.m.

Law enforcement officers will maintain traffic during the full closures. During the closures on Martin Luther King and Reading, there will only be one street restricted at each intersection. All work is weather dependent.

Arrow boards and/or signs will be in place to alert motorists of the upcoming work zone and restrictions.

To help ensure the safety of the construction workers as well as the traveling public, motorists should remain alert, reduce their speed and watch for stopped traffic while passing through the work zone.
