I-71/Socialville Fosters Project Requires
Night Lane Closures
beginning May 8
Warren
County
(Thursday, May 5, 2016) Construction on the Interstate
71/Socialville-Fosters project requires night work beginning Sunday, May 8 and
will last for approximately three weeks.
Various
lane closures on I-71 at the Socialville-Fosters Bridge will occur nightly
during the week between 8 p.m. and 7 a.m.
The
night work includes demolition and removal of the center pier in the median of
I-71 and other bridge and barrier structures.
The
detour remains in place and daytime work involving the bridge widening,
sidewalk/bike path, Columbia Road traffic signal improvements and the
Innovation Way roundabout continues to move forward.
Arrow
boards and/or signs will be in place prior to the work zone to alert motorists
of the upcoming lane and full closures.
To
help ensure the safety of the construction workers as well as the traveling
public, motorists should remain alert, reduce their speed and watch for stopped
traffic while passing through the work zone.
