Full closure on southbound Interstate 75 tonight
Hamilton
County
(Friday, July 11, 2014) – Work to remove a railway bridge over
Interstate 75 continues tonight and will require a full closure of southbound
I-75 just south of State Route 562. Motorists are encouraged to seek
alternate routes:
On
Friday, July 11, all lanes of southbound I-75 will be closed between the SR 562
and Mitchell Avenue interchanges, beginning at 11 p.m. with all lanes reopened
to traffic by 8 a.m. Saturday, July 12. The ramp from westbound SR 562 to
southbound I-75 will also be closed. Single lane closures will be in place,
beginning at 9 p.m. Friday, July 11.
The
suggested detour is west on I-275 to east on I-74 to I-75. Traffic will be
maintained with law enforcement officials.
Arrow
boards and/or signs will be in place to alert motorists of the upcoming closure
and detour.
To
help ensure the safety of the construction workers as well as the traveling
public, motorists should remain alert, reduce their speed and watch for stopped
traffic while passing through the work zone.
