Interstate 75/Hopple Street work scheduled
Hamilton County (Friday, March 8, 2013) – As work to reconstruct and improve the Interstate75/Hopple Street interchange gets underway, flagging operations will be performed on side roads within and around the project limits to accommodate delivery and unloading of equipment and materials. Flagging operations will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily the week of March 11.
In addition, pavement work will require closing the right shoulder of northbound I-75 between the Western Hills Viaduct and the I-74 interchange from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily the week of March 11.
Arrow boards and/or signs will be in place to alert motorists of the upcoming work zone and shoulder closures.
Designated Phase 4 of the I-75 Mill Creek Expressway, this project will update I-75 from the Western Hills Viaduct to I-74. Additional lanes, improved ramp design and new bridges will be constructed as part of the project, which was awarded to Kokosing Construction Inc. on its bid of $90,790,431. When finished, this 1.5 mile interstate project will provide an efficient and safe connection to local hospitals, colleges and businesses in this area of Cincinnati. Completion is targeted for December 2016.
To help ensure the safety of the construction workers as well as the traveling public, motorists should remain alert, reduce their speed and watch for stopped traffic while passing through the work zone.
