I-75/Hopple Street project update

I-75/Hopple construction update:
Permanent ramp closure scheduled

Hamilton County (Tuesday, May 31, 2016) – Work on the Interstate 75/Hopple Street project requires the following permanent ramp closure the weekend of June 10, weather permitting.

Work will begin with lane closures on eastbound I-74 the evening of Thursday, June 9 with a short-term closure of the Beekman Road entrance ramp. Lanes will reopen the morning of Friday, June 10 and the ramp from eastbound I-74 to Central Parkway ramp will be permanently closed at that time.

Lane closures will also be in place on I-75 the evening of June 10, including a possible short-term closure of the Beekman Road entrance ramp to I-74.

New access to Central Parkway from eastbound I-74 will be the Hopple Street exit.

This ramp closure is required to accommodate the new northbound I-75 on-ramp from the Hopple Street bridge that will open in the fall. It also allows for the construction of the ramp from eastbound I-74 to northbound I-75 as part of the upcoming I-74/I-75 interchange reconstruction project, scheduled to start in the fall of 2017.

Arrow boards and/or signs will be in place to alert motorists of the upcoming permanent ramp closure. Again, all work is dependent upon weather.

To help ensure the safety of the construction workers as well as the traveling public, motorists should remain alert, reduce their speed and watch for stopped traffic while passing through the work zone.
