I-75/Hopple
construction update week of May 4
Hamilton County (Monday, May 4, 2015) – Construction work on
Interstate 75 at Hopple will require the following closures this week:
Monday, May 4 through Friday, May 8: Double left lane
closures on both north and southbound I-75, beginning at 10 p.m.; single lane
closures per operational need beginning at 8 p.m.; with all lanes reopened to
traffic by 6 a.m. the following day. Daily lane closures on eastbound Hopple
Street and on Marshall Avenue between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Wednesday, May 6: Single right lane closure on southbound I-75 and single left lane
closure on eastbound I-74, beginning at 8 p.m. for pavement work at the
eastbound I-74/southbound I-75 merge. All lanes reopened to traffic by 6 a.m.
the following day.
Thursday, May 7: Single right lane closure on eastbound I-74 and on southbound
I-75, beginning at 8 p.m., followed by rolling closures on eastbound I-74,
beginning at midnight, with all lanes reopening to traffic by 6 a.m. the
following day. Upon completion of work, eastbound I-74, just north/west of the
merge to southbound I-75, will be reduced to one lane from the exit to Central
Parkway to the merge with southbound I-75 for approximately six months;
northbound I-75 will remain unchanged as will the exit from eastbound I-74 to
northbound I-75 and the exit to Central Parkway.
Arrow
boards and/or signs will be in place to alert motorists of the upcoming road
and lane closures.
To
help ensure the safety of the construction workers as well as the traveling
public, motorists should remain alert, reduce their speed and watch for stopped
traffic while passing through the work zone.
