I-75/Hopple traffic shift slated this weekend
Hamilton County (Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2015) – Construction
on Interstate 75 at Hopple will implement a traffic switch on southbound
Interstate 75 this weekend.
The shift will consist of placing three
lanes of southbound I-75 traffic on the west side of I-75 between the I-74 and
Harrison Avenue interchanges. One lane of southbound I-75 traffic will remain
in a contraflow position on northbound I-75 between I-74 and Harrison.
Northbound I-75 traffic will not be affected and will remain unchanged.
As
part of the traffic switch:
Traffic in the left lane of
southbound I-75, north of I-74, will be required to enter the contraflow lane.
This traffic will not have access to the Hopple or Harrison Avenue exits from
southbound I-75. In addition, the single lane closure on
eastbound I-74 will be removed.
To implement the traffic switch, the following traffic
restrictions will be in place Friday, Nov. 20:
The
ramp from southbound I-75 to Hopple Street will be closed from 8 p.m. Friday,
Nov. 20 until 5 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 21;
The
ramps from Hopple Street to southbound I-75 and from southbound I-75 to
Harrison Avenue will be closed from 10 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20 until 5 a.m.
Saturday, Nov. 21;
A
single lane closure on southbound I-75 will be in place beginning at 8 p.m.,
followed by a double lane closure at 10 p.m. with all lanes reopened to traffic
by 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21;
A
rolling closure on southbound I-75, beginning at approximately 8 a.m. Saturday,
Nov. 21
Arrow
boards and/or signs will be in place to alert motorists of the upcoming road
and lane closures.
To help ensure the safety of the construction workers
as well as the traveling public, motorists should remain alert, reduce their
speed and watch for stopped traffic while passing through the work zone.
