I-75 Lane Closures Slated at Monmouth Overpass

(Friday, November 5, 2010) – Continuing work on the Monmouth Street overpass will require the following lane and ramp closures the week of Nov. 7:
Sunday, Nov. 7 – The left lane of north and southbound Interstate 75 at 7 p.m., with a second lane to close at 10 p.m. All lanes will reopen to traffic by 5 a.m. Monday, Nov. 8
Monday, Nov. 8 – The right lane of north and southbound I-75 at 7 p.m., with a second lane to close at 10 p.m. The closures will extend from the Bates Avenue bridge to the pedestrian bridge south of I-74. All lanes will reopen to traffic by 5 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9.
Tuesday, Nov. 9 – The right lane of southbound I-75 at 7 p.m., with a second lane to close at 10 p.m. The closures will extend from Bates Avenue to the pedestrian bridge south of I-74. All lanes will reopen to traffic by 5 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 10.
Wednesday, Nov. 10 - The left lane of north and southbound I-75 at 9:45 p.m., with a second lane to close at 10 p.m. These closures will extend from Bates Avenue to the pedestrian bridge south of I-74. All lanes will reopen to traffic by 5 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 11.
Thursday, Nov. 11 – The right lane of northbound I-75 at 9:45 p.m., with a second lane to close at 10 p.m. These closures will extend from Bates Avenue to the pedestrian bridge south of I-75. All lanes will reopen to traffic by 5 a.m. Friday, Nov. 12.
With the opening of the new Monmouth Street overpass this week, the Bates Avenue bridge is permanently closed with traffic able to access Sidney Avenue on the west side and the city buildings on the east side.
Arrow boards will be in place prior to the work zone to alert motorists of the lane closures.
ODOT has a Target: Zero goal for any and all safety hazards. To help ensure the safety of construction workers and the traveling public, motorists should remain alert, reduce their speed and watch for stopped traffic while passing through a work zone.
