Interstate 71 deck patching and Lytle Tunnel work

Interstate 71 deck patching and Lytle Tunnel work require various lane and full closures next weekend

Hamilton County (Friday, April 21, 2017) – Deck patching on the Brent Spence Bridge and work in the Lytle Tunnel require a lane closure leading into a full closure of northbound Interstate 71 next weekend.

Beginning at 10 p.m. Friday, April 28, the 4th Street ramp in Covington, KY will be closed in addition to a single right lane closure on northbound I-71 across the Brent Spence Bridge.

At 11 p.m., a full closure of northbound I-71 will be in effect, including closures of the 2nd Street on and off-ramps and through the Lytle Tunnel. The I-471 on-ramp will remain open, but there will be construction in the left lanes of northbound I-71 from the tunnel to SR 562.

Traffic will be detoured using northbound I-75 to State Route 562. All lanes will be open to traffic at 8 a.m. Sunday, April 30.

REMINDER: TRUCK DETOUR - All northbound I-75/I-71 trucks use I-75 to SR 562 back to I-71 or I-275 to I-471 back to I-71 until approximately September, 2017.

Arrow boards and/or signs will be in place to alert motorists of the upcoming work zones and various closures.

To help ensure the safety of the construction workers as well as the traveling public, motorists should remain alert, reduce their speed and watch for stopped traffic while passing through the work zone.
