Interstate 71 Repaving Projects Update
Hamilton County (Friday, Aug. 3, 2018) - The Interstate 71 repaving projects
require the following restrictions:
- Close the ramp from Reading
Road to north I-71 beginning at 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 3 through 6 a.m.
Friday, Aug. 31. The detour uses Reading Road to Martin Luther King, Jr.
Drive to north I-71.
- Various lane closures on north
and south I-71 between the Lytle Tunnel and State Route 126 nightly from 8
p.m. until 6 a.m. Monday, Aug. 6 through Saturday, Aug. 11.
- Single lane closures on Reading
Road between Liberty and McMillan streets nightly from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m.
Monday, Aug. 6 until Saturday, Aug. 11.
- Continuous left lane closure on
north I-71 from the Lytle Tunnel to Reading Road from 8 p.m. Friday, Aug.
10 through 6 a.m. Monday, Aug. 13.
- Beginning at 8 p.m. Thursday,
Aug. 9 or Friday, Aug. 10, the left lane of south I-71 from SR 126 to
Ridge Road will be in a contraflow lane, using the left lane of north
I-71. Traffic will remain in this pattern until May, 2019. Start date for
this contraflow lane is dependent upon work complete; an updated advisory
will be sent.
- Continued reduced bridge
clearance for the ramps east SR 562 to Ridge Road and north I-71 and from
north I-71 to west SR 562, through Saturday, Sept. 1.
Arrow boards and/or
signs will alert motorists of the upcoming restrictions. All work is contingent
upon weather.
To help ensure the
safety of the construction workers as well as the traveling public, motorists
should remain alert, reduce their speed and watch for stopped traffic while
passing through the work zone.
