Interstate 71 Rest Area scheduled to close

Interstate 71 Rest Area scheduled to close

Warren County (Thursday, Nov. 7, 2013) – Work on the Interstate 71/Jeremiah Morrow Bridge will require closure of the northbound I-71 rest area, beginning Monday, Nov. 11.

The rest area will remain closed for approximately three years to accommodate construction of the second span across the Little Miami River Valley. Construction of the first span is near completion and is expected to carry northbound I-71 traffic by the end of the month.

A message board is in place to notify the public of the closure of the rest area; the next available rest area is located north of U.S. 35 near mile marker 67.

To help ensure the safety of the construction workers as well as the traveling public, motorists should remain alert, reduce their speed and watch for stopped traffic while passing through the work zone.
