Interstate 71 Repaving Projects Update

Hamilton County (Friday, Oct. 19, 2018) - The Interstate 71 repaving projects require the following restrictions:
  • Various lane closures on north and south I-71 between Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive and the Lytle Tunnel nightly from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m. Monday, Oct. 22 through Saturday morning, Oct. 27.
  • Continued closure of the ramp from north Red Bank Road to south I-71 through 9 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23. The detour uses north I-71 to Stewart Road to south I-71.
  • Single lane closure on north and south I-71 at Stewart Road through the end of the year.
  • South I-71 traffic at Red Bank Road will be shifted to the outside lanes beginning at approximately 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26.
  • Continuous right lane closure on north I-71 between Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and Dana Avenue through 6 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31. The Martin Luther King Jr. Drive ramp to north I-71 will merge with through traffic at the bottom of the ramp; the Dana Avenue exit will remain open.
  • The left lane of south I-71 is a contraflow lane, using the left lane of north I-71. Traffic will remain in this pattern until May, 2019.
Arrow boards and/or signs will alert motorists of the upcoming restrictions. All work is contingent upon weather.
To help ensure the safety of the construction workers as well as the traveling public, motorists should remain alert, reduce their speed and watch for stopped traffic while passing through the work zone. Move over or slow down.
