Interstate 71/MLK project update

 Hamilton County (Thursday, Sept. 10, 2015) – As part of the work to create a new, full movement interchange at Interstate 71 and Martin Luther King Drive, the following lane closures will be in place between William Howard Taft and Victory Parkway:

Beginning at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 11, a single lane of southbound and northbound I-71, with a double lane closure at 9 p.m., and all lanes reopening by 6 a.m. the following day. Northbound lane closures will be from midnight to 6 a.m. Also, between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m., there will be various rolling road blocks on southbound I-71.

On Monday, Sept. 14 through Thursday, Sept. 17, Fredonia Road will be closed from 7 p.m. until 6 a.m. the following day. Local law enforcement officers will maintain traffic on Fredonia Road from Beecher and Whittier, for emergency vehicle and tractor trailer access.

Also on Monday and Tuesday, a single lane closure on northbound I-71 at 7 p.m., with a double lane closure at 9 p.m. until 6 a.m. the following day. Rolling road blocks on northbound I-71 from 11 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following day.
 

Beginning at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16, a single lane closure of southbound I-71, with a double lane closure at 9 p.m., and all lanes reopening by 6 a.m. the following day. Also, between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m., there will be various rolling road blocks on southbound I-71.

Beginning at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17 and Friday, Sept. 18, a single lane closure on southbound I-71, with a double lane closure at 9 p.m., and all lanes reopening by 6 a.m. the following day. Also, between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. there will be various rolling road blocks on southbound I-71.

Arrow boards and/or signs will be in place to alert motorists of the upcoming work zone and lane closures. To help ensure the safety of the construction workers as well as the traveling public, motorists should remain alert, reduce their speed and watch for stopped traffic while passing through the work zone.
