Interstate 75 traffic shift scheduled
Hamilton County (Friday, Aug. 18, 2017) - A traffic shift requires various lane
closures on southbound Interstate 75 beginning Sunday, Aug. 20.
Sunday, Aug. 20 through
Wednesday, Aug. 23 - Beginning at 8 p.m. each
night until 6 a.m. the following day, various nightly lane closures on
southbound I-75 to set portable concrete barrier for a traffic shift. Lanes
will be shifted to the east (left) side of the interstate, with lane widths reduced
to 11 feet, from just south of Union Centre Boulevard to the I-75/I-275
junction. This traffic shift will remain in effect until Nov. 1, 2017.
In addition, drainage
work requires closing the ramp from southbound I-75 to eastbound I-275 from 11
p.m. Thursday, Aug. 31 until 5 a.m. Friday, Sept. 1. The detour will use
southbound I-75 to Sharon Road to northbound I-75 to eastbound I-275.
Arrow boards and/or
signs will be in place to alert motorists of the upcoming work zone and
restrictions.
To help ensure the
safety of the construction workers as well as the traveling public, motorists
should remain alert, reduce their speed and watch for stopped traffic while
passing through the work zone.
