Interstate 75/I-74 Major Reconstruction project
update - traffic switch scheduled
Hamilton County (Thursday,
Jan. 31, 2019) - The I-75/I-74 Major Reconstruction Project
requires the following restrictions:
Thursday, Jan. 31 and Friday, Feb. 1 - Close the south I-75 ramp to west I-74 from 11 p.m. until 5
a.m. the following day. The detour uses south I-75 to Hopple Street to
west I-74.
In addition, lane
closure on east I-74 from Montana Avenue to the I-75 split from 8 p.m. Friday
until 6 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2. Also, short-term full closures on east and west
I-74 in this area from midnight Friday until 4 a.m. Saturday.
Saturday, Feb. 2 - TRAFFIC SWITCH ON EAST I-74: one
lane of east I-74 will be switched into a contraflow configuration, shifted across
the median to the west I-74 lane. ALL EAST I-74 TRAFFIC TO NORTH I-75 SHOULD BE IN
THE LEFT LANE PRIOR TO THE BEEKMAN STREET INTERCHANGE. Traffic
will remain in this configuration until July.
Saturday, Feb. 2 and Sunday, Feb. 3 - To prepare for the traffic switch, the following restrictions
will be in place:
Lane closure on east
I-74 from Montana Avenue to the I-75 split each night from 7 p.m. until 6 a.m.
the following day. In addition, close the ramp from Colerain Avenue/Beekman
Street to west I-74 and the ramp from east I-74 to Colerain Avenue/Beekman
Street each night from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following day.
Also, short-term full
closures on east and west I-74 in this area each night from midnight until 4
a.m. the following day.
Various lane closures
on north I-75 from Monmouth Street to Mitchell Avenue each night between 7 p.m.
and 6 a.m. the following day, with short-term full closures on north I-75 in
this area each night from midnight until 4 a.m. the following day.
Traffic will be
maintained with law enforcement officers during short-term full closures.
Arrow boards and/or signs will alert motorists of the work zone and
restrictions. All work is contingent upon the weather.
To help ensure the
safety of the construction workers as well as the traveling public, motorists
should remain alert, reduce their speed and watch for stopped traffic while
passing through the work zone. Remember, move over or slow down.
