Interstate 75/I-74 Major Reconstruction Project Update


 
Hamilton County (Wednesday, December 18, 2019) - Moving into the next phase of construction and establishing a change in traffic patterns, the I-75/I-74 Major Reconstruction project requires the following restrictions:
Thursday, December 19: Pavement Repairs
  • Single-lane closure on I-75 South from Mitchell Avenue to the I-74 Interchange between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. Friday, December 20.
  • Single-lane closure on I-74 East from Montana Avenue to the I-75 interchange between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. Friday.
  • Short-term full closures on I-74 and I-75 within the work zone between midnight and 4 a.m. Friday.
Sunday, December 22: Traffic Switch
  • Single-lane closure on I-74 East from Montana Avenue to the I-75 interchange between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m.
  • Short-term full closures on I-74 and I-75 within the work zone between midnight and 4 a.m.
  • Following a traffic switch, I-74 East motorists will be moved to the south side of I-74 East across the bridge decks over Elmore Street and Spring Grove Avenue. Traffic in this lane will only have access to I-75 South; there will be no to access I-75 North from this lane.
  • I-74 East traffic from the Beekman Street on-ramp will only have access to I-75 South; there will be no access to I-75 North from this ramp.
  • Contraflow lane that currently exists will remain in place; however, traffic in the contraflow lane will not be able to access I-75 South. The contraflow lane traffic will be to I-75 North only.
Monday, December 23: Barrier Wall Placement
  • Close the ramp from I-74 East to I-75 North from 9 p.m. Monday to and 5 a.m. Tuesday, December 24.
  • Traffic will be detoured using I-75 South to Hopple Street to I-75 North.
Arrow boards and/or signs will alert motorists of the work zone and restrictions. All work is contingent upon the weather.
To help ensure the safety of the construction workers as well as the traveling public, motorists should remain alert, reduce their speed and watch for stopped traffic while passing through the work zone. Remember, move over or slow down.
