Interstate 75/Thru the Valley project update
Hamilton County (Friday, June 1, 2018) - The Interstate 75/Thru
the Valley project requires the following restrictions beginning Friday, June
8.
Nightly lane closures
on north and south I-75 between Shepherd Avenue and Glendale Milford Road from
8 p.m. until 6 a.m. the following day Tuesday, June 5 through Saturday morning,
June 30.
Permanent closure of
the I-75 south flyover ramp and north/south ramps, just north of Shepherd
Avenue, beginning at 8 p.m. Friday, June 8 to prepare for structure demolition.
A new traffic pattern
to access General Electric will in place beginning 8 p.m. Friday, June 8. All
traffic will access the campus from Glendale Milford Road or Shepherd
Avenue onto a new, two-way temporary road within GE. Access to the
campus via the north Collector Road will be permanently closed.
In addition, a new
portion of Neumann Way at Glendale Milford Road will be open to traffic using
the new intersection opposite the I-75 north ramps at Glendale Milford Road.
This section will have reduced lane widths.
Also, all east and west
lanes of Glendale Milford Road, from St. Rita Lane to Evendale Drive, will be
shifted to the south side of Glendale Milford Road, onto the new portion of
Glendale Milford Road bridge over I-75.
The new ramp from
Shepherd Avenue to north I-75 will be open to traffic. The new ramp is on the
north side of Shepherd Avenue/east side of I-75. The existing ramp from the
south side of Shepherd Avenue to the north I-75 Collector Road will be
permanently closed.
Arrow boards and/or signs are in place to alert motorists of the
upcoming work zone and restrictions. All work is contingent upon the weather.
To help ensure the
safety of the construction workers as well as the traveling public, motorists
should remain alert, reduce their speed and watch for stopped traffic while
passing through the work zone.
