Interstate closures scheduled for utility work

 

   Hamilton County (Monday, March 7, 2011)Utility work will require short-term

closures on Interstates 75 and 71 this weekend.

 

    Interstate 75 at the Monmouth Street overpass will be closed to traffic in both directions for a  five-minute period for the removal of an aerial cable; the closure will be from approximately 7 a.m. to 7:05 a.m. Sunday March 13.

      In addition, I-75 will be closed in both directions at the I-75/Mitchell Ave. interchange for 2-to-15 minute intervals between midnight and 5 a.m. Sunday, March 13 for aerial cable work.

    Short-term (15-minute) closures are also scheduled for both directions  of I-71 at Mason/Montgomery Road from midnight to 6 a.m. Sunday, March 13, again for aerial cable work.

       Portable message signs are in place prior to the work zone to alert motorists of the upcoming closures. 

       To help ensure the safety of construction workers and the traveling public, motorists should remain alert, reduce their speed and watch for stopped traffic while passing through a work zone.
