Lane and Ramp Closures Scheduled for I-75 Traffic Switch

Warren County (Thursday, Oct. 21, 2010) – Work to implement a traffic switch on northbound Interstate 75 will require lane and ramp closures between the rest area and State Route 122 Friday, Oct. 22 and Saturday, Oct. 23.

The right lane of northbound  I-75 will close at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 22, followed by the closure of the center lane at 10 p.m. . The northbound I-75 exit ramp to SR 63 will be closed at 10 p.m. as well as the entrance ramp from SR 63 to northbound I-75. The detour for the ramp closure is to remain on northbound I-75 to the SR 122 exit back to southbound I-75 to SR 63. Northbound I-75 traffic will be returned to its original configuration during the Friday night operations; two lanes of traffic will be open.

Beginning at 7 a.m.,  Saturday, Oct. 23, a lane of traffic will be closed between the rest area to SR 63 for paving operations with three lanes of traffic opened on northbound I-75 by 3 p.m.

On Saturday, Oct. 23 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., two lanes of traffic on northbound I-75 will be maintained from the rest area to SR 63 while surface course paving is completed. By 3 p.m., three lanes of traffic will be maintained.

Upon completion of the traffic switch, three lanes of traffic will be maintained on northbound I-75 from SR 63 to SR 122 This work is part of the widening and reconstruction of I-75 in Butler and Warren counties.

ODOT has a Target: Zero goal for any and all safety hazards. To help ensure the safety of construction workers and the traveling public, motorists should remain alert, reduce their speed and watch for stopped traffic while passing through a work zone.
