New Northbound
Ramp from I-75 to Hopple Street Opens Friday Night

(Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2014) – A new Northbound I-75 to Hopple St. ramp will
open Friday, Dec. 26. Also Northbound I-75 traffic will be switched onto newly
constructed pavement between the Western Hills Viaduct and Hopple Street.
The
new ramp is located on the east or right side of I-75. The existing ramp (left
hand exit) from Northbound I-75 to Hopple Street will be permanently closed. A
new signal located on the new Hopple Street Bridge at the intersection of
Hopple Street and the top of the new ramp from Northbound I-75 to Hopple Street
will go into operation as well.
The
following traffic restrictions will be in place for the traffic switch:
Ramp
from Harrison Avenue and Bank Street to Northbound I-75 will be closed from 9
p.m. Friday, Dec. 26 until 5 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 27.
Ramp
from Northbound I-75 to Harrison Avenue will be closed from 10 p.m. Friday,
Dec. 26 until 9 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 27.
Double
Lane Closure on Northbound I-75 from just south of the Western Hills Viaduct to
just north of Hopple Street will be in place from 9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 26 until
9 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 27.
Arrow
boards and/or signs will be in place to alert motorists of the traffic changes.
All
work is dependent on the weather.
To
help ensure the safety of the construction workers as well as the traveling
public, motorists should remain alert, reduce their speed and watch for stopped
traffic while passing through the work zone.
