New
closure scheduled for U.S. 50
Clermont County (Wednesday, May 21, 2014) –
With work completed, U.S 50 west of Owensville will reopen to traffic by the
end of today, May 21.
A second 30-day closure of U.S. 50 for culvert work will
begin Tuesday, May 27. The closure will be located between Tech Valley Drive
and Round Bottom Road, east of Milford. The suggested detour is U.S. 50 to SR
131 to U.S. 50.
The project, which is scheduled for completion in October
2014, also includes the resurfacing of nearly 16 miles of U.S.50 from Milford
to the village of Marathon.
Barrett Paving Material Inc. was awarded the contract on its
bid of $4,680,608.
To help ensure the safety of the construction workers as
well as the traveling public, motorists should remain alert, reduce their speed
and watch for stopped traffic while passing through the work zone.
