New Monmouth Street Overpass to Open Nov. 1

HAMILTON COUNTY  (Friday, Oct. 29, 2010)  - As work progresses on the first phase of construction of the $664 million Interstate 75 Mill Creek Expressway project, the new Monmouth Street bridge over Interstate 75 will be open to traffic Monday evening, Nov. 1.

 With the opening of the new overpass, the Bates Avenue bridge and the pedestrian bridge between I-74 and Monmouth will be permanently closed Monday, Nov. 1

   In addition, lane closures for next week to accommodate work are as follows:

The right lane of southbound I-75 will be closed to traffic at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 1, with a second lane to close at 10 p.m.

The left lane of southbound I-75 will be closed to traffic at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 2, with a second lane to close at 10 p.m.

The left lane of northbound I-75 will be closed to traffic at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 3, with a second lane to close at 10 p.m.

Right lane of northbound I-75 will be closed to traffic at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 4 with a second lane to close at 10 p.m. All lanes will reopen by 5 a.m. the following day.

 The I-75 Mill Creek Expressway project will improve traffic flow and enhance safety of the I-75 corridor from the Western Hills Viaduct to north of the Paddock Road interchange in Hamilton County. Over the course of 10 years, construction will rehabilitate eight miles of existing lanes and construct an additional lane in each direction.
