ODOT Gears Up for Annual Roadway Cleanup Efforts

Lebanon (Monday, March 21, 2011) - The Ohio Department of Transportation and Keep Cincinnati Beautiful are looking for volunteers to help clear litter from along interstate highways and ramps during this year’s State Roadway Cleanup.

The event will begin at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, March 26 with volunteer registration at the Cincinnati Museum Center at Union Terminal.

And, thanks to the new partnership with the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden, the first 500 volunteers will receive a free admission ticket to the zoo. Volunteers must be signed up prior to the event and at least 16 years old with a parent or guardian present if under the age of 18.

Volunteers will be assigned and driven to designated locations inside the I-275 loop.

You can sign up to be a part of the cleanup by completing the registration form online.

For more information about the State Roadway Cleanup in District 8, visit http://transportation.ohio.gov/districts/D08/StateRoadwayCleanup.aspx or www.KeepCincinnatiBeautiful.org.

Please join hundreds of volunteers around the Buckeye State as we remove litter along our roadways!
