Project to require full closure of northbound I-75 June 27-28

Hamilton County (Friday, June 20, 2014) – Replacement of a railroad bridge overpass, located just south of the Norwood Lateral (State Route 562) interchange, will require a full closure of northbound Interstate 75 between the Mitchell Avenue and Norwood Lateral interchanges next weekend.

All lanes of northbound I-75 will be closed at the Mitchell Avenue exit from 11 p.m. Friday, June 27 to 8 a.m. Saturday, June 28.  The northbound I-75 exit to Mitchell Avenue will remain open to traffic.  The suggested detour is west on I-74 to east on I-275 to I-75. Traffic will be maintained with law enforcement officials.

Arrow boards and/or signs will be in place prior to the work zone to alert motorists of the upcoming full closure. To help ensure the safety of the construction workers as well as the traveling public, motorists should remain alert, reduce their speed and watch for stopped traffic while passing through the work zone. Dynamic message boards will be used to provide information.

The $18 million project to replace this railroad bridge, is phase 6 of the I-75 Mill Creek Expressway improvement work. The project’s completion is scheduled for Sept. 2016.
