Public comment
sought for SR 725 project
GREENE
COUNTY (Thursday,
Oct. 9, 2014) -- The Ohio Department of Transportation (District 8)
is seeking public comment on a proposed project to widen State Route 725 along
Sackett-Wright Park.
The proposed project will widen the west
side of SR 725 along the Sackett-Wright Park property from the entrance to the
park to 600 feet south. Also, approximately 75 feet of the roadway
embankment along Sugar Creek will be stabilized with rock channel protection,
as will 75 feet of the upstream bank. These improvements will provide compliant
shoulder and lane widths and ditch configuration, and prevent Sugar Creek from
undercutting the road. The proposed improvements require acquisition of 0.54
acres of permanent right-of-way and 0.13 acres of temporary right-of-way from
Sackett-Wright Park.
Construction is scheduled to begin May 1, 2016 and end Aug.
1, 2016. The construction date for the improvements will be coordinated with
the Bellbrook Sugarcreek Park District to minimize disruption to Sackett-Wright
Park facilities. Access to the park will be maintained at all times
during construction activities, therefore, the proposed project will not
interfere with or permanently impair the protected recreational activities,
features or attributes of Sackett-Wright Park.
Due to impacts upon Sackett-Wright Park, the proposed
project is subject to a public notice and comment period in accordance with 23
CFR 774.5(b)(2). Therefore, ODOT District 8 is providing the public an
opportunity to provide feedback regarding the proposed work and associated
impacts upon the park property. Comments may be sent by Oct. 24, 2014, to the
following contact:
