Interstate 71 Repaving Project Update

Hamilton County (Friday, October 18, 2019) – Restrictions and traffic pattern changes will be in effect on Interstate 71 North this weekend to correct pavement and re-establish the contraflow lane from eastbound SR 562/Norwood Lateral.
Throughout the weekend, various lane closures will be in effect, and the following traffic changes will be in place:
  • One lane of I-71 northbound will be closed beginning at 8 p.m. Friday, and traffic will be maintained in a single lane until noon Saturday.
  • The ramp from SR 562/Norwood Lateral East to the contraflow lane, as well as the contraflow lane, will be closed at 9 p.m. Friday. Traffic will be detoured via Ridge Avenue, Duck Creek Road, and Kennedy Avenue throughout the weekend.
  • The contraflow lane will be accessible from I-71 North beginning at noon Saturday, providing two lanes of travel on I-71.
  • The ramp from SR 562 East to the contraflow lane and I-71 North will remain closed until 5 a.m. Monday.
  • Two lanes of traffic will be restored on mainline northbound I-71, and the ramp from SR 562 East will be reopened by 5 a.m. Monday. At this time, motorists will have access into and out of the contraflow lane from the Lateral and the mainline on I-71 North.
