Interstate 71/MLK lane closure scheduled
Hamilton County (Monday, July 18, 2016) – The following restrictions will be in place as part of the work to create a new, full movement interchange at I-71 and Martin Luther King Drive:
Monday, July 18 Tuesday, July 19: Close east and westbound Martin Luther King Drive between Reading Road and Gilbert Avenue from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m. the following day. The detour will use Reading Road, Lincoln and Gilbert avenues. Also, lane closures on northbound I-71 at Fredonia Avenue from midnight until 6 a.m., with short-term full closures from midnight until 5 a.m.. If work is canceled due to weather, the rain date is Tuesday, July 19.
Tuesday, July 19: Various lane closures on southbound I-71 at Fredonia Avenue from 7 p.m. until 6 a.m. the following day, with short-term full closures on southbound I-71 from midnight until 5 a.m.
Wednesday, July 20 and Thursday, July 21: Various lane closures on north and southbound I-71 at Fredonia Avenue from 7 p.m. until 6 a.m. the following day, with short-term full closures in either direction from midnight until 5 a.m.
Friday, July 22: Various lane closures on southbound I-71 at Fredonia Avenue from 7 p.m. until 6 a.m. the following day, with short-term full closures in either direction from 11 p.m. until 5 a.m.
Arrow boards and/or signs will be in place to alert motorists of the upcoming work zone. All work is dependent upon weather. To help ensure the safety of the construction workers as well as the traveling public, motorists should remain alert, reduce their speed and watch for stopped traffic while passing through the work zone.
