State Route 125/Five Mile Road construction update

Hamilton County (Tuesday, March 15, 2016) – Construction on ODOT’s continuous flow intersection at Beechmont Avenue (State Route 125) and Five Mile Road in Anderson Township, Hamilton County will begin March 23. The $3.1 million project includes:

Relocation of the throught and left lanes primarily along Five Mile Road
           Construction of oncrete median areas
ADA compliant crosswalks and ramps for pedestrian access

The project will also extend the right turn lanes of east and westbound SR 125 to its intersection Five Mile Road.
Roadway construction will take place during the day, with drainage and sewer work taking place at night to minimize traffic congestion.

Work is expected to be complete in late 2016.

Phase I of this project will close Fehl Lane, which is parallel to Five Mile Road, at the orthodontist office beginning Wednesday, March 23. Fehl Lane will continue to be accessible from Nimitzview Drive, with traffic maintained by flaggers and various traffic control devices.

Traffic will be shifted and maintained using barrels and traffic control devices throughout the project phases. Intermittent lane closures using flagging operations will also be required at certain times. These lane closures will be announced as necessary.

The contract was awarded to Karvo Paving Company.
