State Route 177 to close for culvert work
Preble County (Thursday, April 18, 2013) – Culvert replacement work will require closing State Route 177 between SR 725 and Israel-Somers Road the weeks of April 22 and April 29.
Both closures will begin at 7 a.m. Monday, April 22 and Monday, April 29, with the roadway to reopen to traffic by 3 p.m. the following Friday.
The detour for northbound SR 177 traffic will be east on SR 725 to north on SR 732 to west on Israel-Somers Road, back to SR 177. Southbound traffic will use the same detour in reverse. The detour is an additional 1.77 miles or approximately two minutes.
Arrow boards and/or signs will be in place prior to the work zone to alert motorists of the upcoming road closure and detour.
To help ensure the safety of the construction workers as well as the traveling public, motorists should remain alert, reduce their speed and watch for stopped traffic while passing through the work zone.
